Sönmez Çimento Yapı ve Madencilik San. ve Tic. A.Ş., which was established by partnership of SÖNMEZ Holding, KUTLUCAN Holding and TÜRKÜN Holding, started production in Adana Yumurtalık TAYSEB Free Zone in October 2014. The plant that was started to be constructed in December 2012 has been designed in accordance with the Current Environmental Legislation with its latest-technology dedusting systems, and also have been maintaining its characteristics of being environmentalist plant by the use of substitute fuel and renewable energy resources.
Sönmez Cement, which is close to raw material resources with 413 donums of land and 230 employees, is the first cement plant in Turkey that is allowed to be built into free zones. In addition to this, the plant that has a distance of 4.5 km to port renders the best service to its customers by using this advantage.
Sönmez Cement will further strengthen its competitive advantage with the port project expected to be completed in the second half of 2017.
Sönmez Cement, which produces 1.7 million tons of clinker and 2 million tons of cement per year, carries out a large part of its sales as exports.
